Why I Started Writing:
I was serving as an Associate in Ministry in 2006 when I needed a Christmas story to read to the children at the family Christmas Eve service. Praying for guidance as to what book to read, I got an answer I wasn’t expecting. God’s answer was I was going to write the story this time. That started my retirement career of being a children’s writer.
Authors Who Have Influenced Me:
The children’s authors who have influenced me the most are Michelle Medlock Adams, Chrystal Bowman, and Mary Pope Osborne. I have met and worked with Michelle and Chrystal, both are wonderful mentors.
Books I Have Written:
The book that was written for that Christmas Eve service was published in 2007 as This Babe So Small, the nativity told through the eyes of the innkeeper’s daughter.
After moving from Michigan to Florida, I learned about the writer’s group, Word Weavers, and also the Florida Christian Writer’s Conference. Through them, I began my new series Bible Characters Through the Ages: Book One-Adam in the Garden; Book Two-Meeting Eve; and Book-Three Watching David and Goliath. I have a contract for Book Four-The Amazing Esther, Book-Five-Isaac’s Family and Book Six-Jacob’s Journey, all of which are or will be published by Elk Lake Publishing.
What I'm Working On Now:
I am praying about starting the next three books in the series. I believe the first two will Abraham and Moses, but haven’t discerned the third character yet.
